MEA's domestic route to Tripoli/Kleyate (30 mns in duration) was intended for travellers heading to North Lebanon, as front-lines and checkpoints had multiplied between Beirut and Tripoli. The route will be suspended 2 years later. MEA planned on re-introducing one of its B747s during the summer, and to fly it on routes to Paris, London, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In the meantime, the network was revived with the B707/720 Cedarjet fleet.

MEA's B707s were still Lebanon's crucial link to the world as foreign airlines were still reluctant in resuming services to Lebanon. Photo: OD-AHC, seen in Paris-Orly in September 1990. Copyright Torsten Maiwald @Airliners.net.

MEA resumed the publication of in-flight magazines in the summer of 1990 . Cedarwings' style was different of that of Cedarjet. Printed in Lebanon, it was more focused on articles of interest to the Lebanese passenger than its more cosmopolitan and cultural predecessor. The articles in Cedarwings are published in Arabic, French and English. This first issue contained articles on diverse topics: Spring and Summer Trends, Abu Dhabi, Sit Nasab, the Soccer World Cup in Italy, the Kleyate flights as well as puzzles and strip cartoons for children.
