MEA TIMETABLE, SUMMER 1960.

This document is based on MEA's timetable no 18, eff March-October 1960. It was the last season before the intoduction of Comet jets.

MEA's network expanded from London to Bombay.

MEA's route to London was such a success that it was flown 6 times a week.

MEA  offered convenient connections to the main cities of the Middle East: Cairo, Baghdad, Jerusalem, Aleppo, Nicosia, Ankara, Aden, Teheran, Kuwait, Jeddah, Dhahran, Bahrain and Doha. MEA also flew twice weekly to India and Pakistan.

MEA also operated in this season its last all cargo flights. The rise of TMA, Lebanon's all cargo specialist airline, and the introduction of the Comet in late 1960 made all cargo operations less profitable. MEA will sell its 2 Avro Yorks to TMA in 1960.

This map shows MEA's all cargo network of 1960.
