LIA TIMETABLE, WINTER 1958.

This document is based on LIA's timetable, winter 1958 issue .

LIA-Lebanese International Airways was granted its operating license as Société des Transports Terrestres Maritimes et Aeriens in 1950.The airline focused first on charter flights. It started regular operations in 1953, with the first scheduled service flown to Kuwait in April of that year, after it was taken over by Lebanese entrepreneurs, Carlos and Alphonse Arida. Two Curtiss C46 Commando planes were used then. The Kuwait service was subsequently extended to Bahrain, Doha and Dhahran in 1956, and a route to Baghdad and Teheran was launched in 1957. European operations were started in 1958, with technical assistance from Sabena-Belgian World Airways, using DC-6 airplanes on the Beirut- Milan- Paris/Bourget - Brussels route. This timetable highlights the new additions to the network.

LIA flew twice weekly the Beirut-Milan/Malpensa-Paris/LeBourget-Brussels route.

LIA flew 5 times a week to Kuwait, 2 times weekly to Baghdad, Dhahran, Bahrain, Teheran, and once weekly to Doha.

The route-map shows mainly connections provided in Brussels by SABENA.
