MEA TIMETABLE, NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 1955.
This document is based on MEA's November 1955 timetable.
MEA had shifted earlier that year its alliance from Pan American World
Airways, back to the partnership with BOAC. The British airline had accompanied
MEA during its early years. The renewed partnership enabled MEA to introduce
Viscounts into the fleet, and to open scheduled services to Europe, starting
with the twice weekly Beirut-Athens-Rome flight.
In this issue, MEA dropped using Arabic in its timetables, but maintained the same format used since 1950.
MEA's network in 1955, spanning from Europe to the Gulf region, reflects the markets that will remain vital for the Lebanese airline all through its history.
