THE CEDARJET PAGES

By Wassim Chemaitelli

MEA TIMETABLE, DECEMBER 1952.

This document is based on MEA's mid - December 1952 timetable issue. MEA was still then a regional airline, operating an all - Dakota fleet.

The timetable cover celebrates the Cedars of Lebanon. MEA operated an all- Dakota fleet from 1948 to 1955 (photo MEA).

MEA operated daily flights to Cairo-Almaza ( Egypt), Jerusalem-Kolundia (Palestine), 6 flights weekly to Kuwait, 5 to Dhahran (Saudi Arabia),  3 to Nicosia (Cyprus), 2 to Baghdad (Iraq), and a weekly flight to Bahrain.

Conflict regarding the future orientations of the airline will soon lead to the end of the partnership with Pan American World Airways. Unsatisfied with the role of an exclusively regional airline operating feeder services on behalf of PAA, MEA will renew its partnership with BOAC in 1955, obtaining thus Vickers Viscounts which will enable the airline to open its first regular services to Europe and to the Indian sub-continent.
