MEA TIMETABLE, JANUARY 1st 1966

The starting document for this page is the Lebanon Fortinghtly Magazine. This well established tourist publication was sponsored by MEA. It highlited social, cultural and touristic events. The center page was dedicated to MEA's timetable. The magazine also featured MEA news, this issue focused on the celebration of MEA's 20th anniversary.

MEA's 3 Caravelles VIN (left, copyright unknown, via the Caravelle Museum) were affected to medium haul flights, while the 3 remaining Viscounts (right, copyright unknown) were flown on short distances (Jerusalem, Aleppo, Nicosia).

MEA's 4 Comet 4Cs were flown on high yield routes. MEA postcard via Peter Goodearl.

Awaiting the delivery of its own Boeing 707s, MEA leased 3 Boeing 720s from Ethiopian Airlines in January 1966. These were flown to Cairo, Khartoum, Jeddah, Aden, Addis Abeba, Lagos, Accra, Abidjan and Monrovia. One of these aircraft will be lost in a collision in Beirut in January 1968.
